Emerson has been named the 2026 Industrial IoT Company of the Year, an honor awarded through the 10th annual IoT Breakthrough Awards program. The recognition underscores the company’s continued focus on innovation and its role in advancing AI-enabled autonomous operations across global industrial markets, according to the award organizers.

As reported by PR Newswire, Emerson’s transformation into a global automation leader was accelerated following its acquisition of Aspen Technology, completing the expansion of a technology portfolio that spans intelligent field devices, secure control systems, and enterprise-level optimization software. This integrated approach positions Emerson with one of the industry’s most comprehensive industrial IoT technology stacks.

The company supports mission-critical sectors worldwide, including energy, liquefied natural gas, power, life sciences, chemicals, aerospace, and semiconductors. Emerson’s platforms are designed to help these industries operate with greater speed, safety, reliability, and confidence. Looking ahead, the company is shaping automation around a software-defined, data-centric model that enables seamless modernization, faster technology deployment, AI-driven optimization, and a pathway toward autonomous operations.

Emerson President and Chief Executive Officer Lal Karsanbhai stated that the company’s software-defined automation strategy aligns with key global growth drivers such as digital transformation, electrification, energy security, and near-shoring. He noted that the award reflects Emerson’s sustained investments in innovation and transformative technologies aimed at helping customers achieve operational excellence and prepare for an autonomous future.

This marks the seventh time Emerson has been named Industrial IoT Company of the Year by the IoT Breakthrough Awards. The program has also previously recognized the company for Industrial Innovation of the Year and Analytics Platform of the Year. Now in its tenth year, the awards evaluate excellence, creativity, and success across the IoT sector, with more than 4,000 nominations submitted globally this year.

Steve Johansson, managing director at Tech Breakthrough, said Emerson continues to stand out for its innovation, technology leadership, and long-term vision in enabling essential industries to digitally transform operations to meet future demands, according to the award citation.
