Hiverlab, a leading innovator in spatial computing, AI digital twins, and XR solutions, made a significant impact at AWE Asia 2026, the premier event for XR and spatial technologies in the region. Held from February 2–4 at the Singapore Expo, the conference provided a key platform for the company to showcase its latest advancements in industrial IoT. At the center of this presence was CEO Ender Jiang Shutao, whose presentation on ECHO demonstrated how manufacturing efficiency can be transformed through affordable, scalable edge devices.

Spotlight on Ender Jiang Shutao’s Presentation: Scaling Spatial AI in Manufacturing

On February 2 at 16:05 SGT on Track Stage 1, Ender delivered a talk titled “ECHO: Scaling Spatial AI in Manufacturing via Low-Cost Edge Devices.” Drawing on real-world deployments, he outlined the technical architecture behind ECHO, Hiverlab’s ultra-low-cost IoT sensor node with raw unit costs below US$10.

ECHO is powered by a RISC-V microcontroller unit to enable efficient edge processing and uses LoRaWAN technology, a low-power wide-area network protocol designed for long-range communication. The system transmits data packets of under 50 bits, allowing hyper-efficient data flow without reliance on Wi-Fi networks or extensive cloud infrastructure.

Ender shared deployment data from a major textile manufacturing facility where 5,000 ECHO sensors were installed under a single roof. The sensors monitor sewing machines and worker operations in real time, tracking stitch quality, material usage, operator efficiency, and equipment anomalies. These battery-powered devices enable predictive quality control and near-zero-latency insights, addressing common challenges such as inconsistent stitching, material waste, and delayed operational data. The result is improved productivity, reduced rejection rates, and enhanced sustainability, achieved with minimal setup and no new network investments.

The presentation positioned ECHO as a practical Industry 4.0 solution for Southeast Asia, particularly as manufacturing hubs in Vietnam, Indonesia, and Malaysia accelerate the adoption of IoT-driven production systems.

Broader Event Context and Hiverlab’s Engagement

AWE Asia 2026 attracted more than 1,000 attendees and featured discussions spanning AI, XR, and spatial computing. The program included keynote sessions such as Snap’s Atley Loughridge on the everyday utility of augmented reality and Alvin W. Graylin’s perspectives on programmable reality and AI ethics. Day two highlighted Mark Billinghurst’s exploration of empathic XR, alongside enterprise and healthcare-focused sessions.

The expo floor featured demonstrations from companies including Snap Spectacles and ArborXR, with the event concluding in the Auggie Awards ceremony, where Braillic, Refract, and Snap received recognition.

Beyond the main stage, Hiverlab maintained an active presence on the expo floor. The team, including analyst Lazius Kaye, engaged with industry leaders, explored deep-tech developments, and conducted video interviews for Enterprise Tech Magazine. These discussions centered on scalable spatial computing architectures and reinforced Hiverlab’s focus on transforming manufacturing, logistics, and smart city operations through interoperable technologies.

Looking Ahead: Hiverlab’s Momentum

Participation in AWE Asia 2026 reflects Hiverlab’s continued focus on real-world deployment and measurable impact. With ECHO demonstrating proven scalability and new partnerships in development, the company is preparing to expand deployments and target US$2 million in revenue by the end of the year.

Further updates, including video content from the event, will follow as Hiverlab continues to advance efficient and sustainable spatial AI solutions for industry.
