Beijing Yizhuang to Launch World’s First 4S Store for Humanoid Robots

Published: 2025-06-17 Category: AI News

The first-ever 4S store dedicated to humanoid intelligent robots is set to officially launch in Yizhuang, Beijing, during the upcoming 2025 World Robot Conference, scheduled for August 8–12, according to a China Daily report.

In China, “4S” stands for Sales, Service, Spare parts, and Survey—an integrated dealership format widely adopted in the country’s automotive industry.

“The new platform will create a full-lifecycle service system for robots, reshape the industry value chain with an updated model, and serve as a benchmark for sector development,” said Liang Liang, deputy director at the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area.

Driven by recent AI and motion control advancements, the global market for humanoid robots is projected to exceed 1 trillion yuan (US$139.17 billion) within three years. Liang noted that applications will extend beyond industrial manufacturing into commercial and domestic spheres.

He said the launch will also bolster Yizhuang’s robotics ecosystem by encouraging innovation and deepening industrial clustering.

Wang Yifan, deputy general manager of Beijing Yizhuang Robot Technology Industry Development Co, added that outdated fragmented sales and support models no longer serve the growing demand for scenario adaptation, technology validation, and full lifecycle maintenance.

The new 4S store will combine robot sales, spare parts, after-sales support, and client feedback, offering an end-to-end system to better align supply and demand.

Designed with scenario-based demonstrations and immersive interaction, the store will offer standardized delivery and service, helping align cutting-edge innovation with real-world needs.

It will also support a national spare parts distribution network and deploy a skilled repair team for maintenance, assembly, and technical services.

Located in Yizhuang—home to Beijing’s first robot industrial park—the initiative is already drawing interest. More than 100 robotics supply chain players, including 30 firms focused on humanoid models, have shown intent to participate.

At Wednesday’s press event, ten leading firms—including UBTECH Robotics and the Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center—signed partnership agreements and may be among the first tenants.

“Consumer expectations of humanoid robots are evolving,” said Ren Haidong, director of commerce at High Torque Robotics in Guangzhou. “Robots will increasingly blend into a wide range of daily scenarios.”

Ren also mentioned that Yizhuang has offered beneficial policies like subsidized rent and talent development guidance, which may help startups recruit recent university graduates.
