Fujitsu Signs Licensing Agreement with Palantir in 2025
Fujitsu has entered a new licensing agreement with Palantir Technologies Japan for the Artificial Intelligence Platform (Palantir AIP). This platform supports the integration of generative AI into business operations. Under the deal, they will deliver Palantir AIP to its customers in Japan, with global expansion scheduled during fiscal 2025. Palantir AIP will also be combined with Fujitsu Uvance, its business framework aimed at solving societal issues, to drive business transformation. The agreement strengthens the long-term global partnership between them and Palantir.
The two companies first collaborated in 2020 to support data integration and digital transformation in Japan. In 2023, they expanded globally, enabling Fujitsu to market and distribute Palantir Foundry, a platform used to manage large-scale data across multiple systems.
When integrated with Palantir Foundry, Palantir AIP allows enterprises to rapidly apply generative AI for data analysis and decision-making. It works with preferred large language models (LLMs) inside corporate networks and is widely adopted in sectors such as finance and defense. With Palantir AIP, customers can build systems using generative AI and AI agents in far less time than conventional methods. This supports supply chain optimization, workflow automation, and executive decision-making.
Fujitsu already provides combined solutions with Palantir Foundry for data integration and operational analysis, improving efficiency in areas such as supply chain and engineering. The addition of Palantir AIP into Fujitsu Uvance brings unified support for generative and agentic AI tasks, including simulation, root cause analysis, and proposal generation. By linking Palantir AIP with Fujitsu AI services such as Takane and Kozuchi, Fujitsu enhances Japanese language capabilities, adds business-specific functions, and accelerates the rollout of agentic AI for customers with Japanese language needs. This shift enables data-driven decision-making beyond traditional visualization while maintaining human expertise and oversight.
Internal Fujitsu trials of Palantir AIP demonstrated improvements in human resource allocation, such as more accurate engineer placement and skill-based matching. Results included reduced workloads and quicker decision-making. Fujitsu will now expand AIP usage across its internal core systems, advancing management visualization and risk prediction, including early detection of supply chain risks such as natural disasters, financial challenges, and compliance issues.
Through this alliance, Fujitsu targets USD 100 million in sales by the end of fiscal 2029. The company aims to deliver high-value offerings across industries including manufacturing, retail, government, and finance. Palantir will provide the AIP platform, functional updates, and technical support while collaborating with Fujitsu to expand use cases.
Under Fujitsu Uvance, the company will continue leveraging generative AI to create infrastructure for information sharing and real-time data utilization. This approach links workplaces and management directly, supporting a sustainable future.
