IBM has unveiled a new enterprise consulting service aimed at addressing one of the most persistent challenges facing organizations adopting artificial intelligence: scaling AI in a governed, secure, and operationally meaningful way. According to a report by PR Newswire, the company has launched IBM Enterprise Advantage, which it describes as a first-of-its-kind, asset-based consulting offering that combines reusable AI tools with IBM’s consulting expertise to help businesses design, govern, and operate internal AI platforms at scale.
The Enterprise Advantage service allows organizations to redesign workflows, connect AI to existing enterprise systems, and deploy new agentic applications without requiring changes to their existing cloud providers, AI models, or core infrastructure. This includes compatibility with platforms such as Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, IBM watsonx, and both open- and closed-source models, enabling companies to build on prior technology investments rather than replace them.
IBM states that Enterprise Advantage draws directly from the capabilities and methods developed within IBM Consulting Advantage, its internal AI-powered delivery platform. With an expanding marketplace of industry-specific AI agents and applications, IBM Consulting Advantage has already supported more than 150 client engagements and demonstrated productivity gains of up to 50 percent for IBM consultants, helping accelerate client outcomes.
By extending this approach to clients, IBM says Enterprise Advantage provides organizations with access to a proven framework for navigating the increasingly complex AI ecosystem. The service combines human expertise with digital workers and ready-to-use AI assets to help enterprises move from experimentation to scaled deployment with greater confidence.
PR Newswire reports that early adopters include Pearson, a lifelong learning company, which is using Enterprise Advantage to develop a customized AI-powered platform that blends human expertise with agentic assistants to support everyday work and decision-making. In another example cited in the report, a manufacturing company has applied the service to implement its generative AI strategy by identifying high-value use cases, testing targeted prototypes, and aligning leadership around a platform-first approach. The resulting solution enables the deployment of AI assistants using multiple technologies within a secure, governed environment designed to support broader enterprise adoption.

In a second PR Newswire report, IBM revealed a strategic collaboration with global technology group e&, unveiled at the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos, to deploy agentic AI across mission-critical governance, risk, and compliance systems.
The initiative marks e&’s shift beyond traditional natural language processing-based chatbots toward governed, action-oriented AI embedded directly into core enterprise processes. The solution is built on IBM watsonx Orchestrate, which offers more than 500 tools and customizable, domain-specific agents developed by IBM and its partners. Integrated with IBM OpenPages and the broader watsonx portfolio, the system is designed to provide employees and auditors with clear, traceable responses aligned with enterprise governance requirements.
According to PR Newswire, a joint proof of concept delivered by IBM, Gulf Business Machines, and e& within eight weeks demonstrated that agentic AI could operate at enterprise scale under real-world conditions. IBM’s Client Engineering team led the solution’s design and integration, while Gulf Business Machines supported delivery through project coordination and its familiarity with e&’s OpenPages and watsonx Assistant environment.
The collaboration illustrates how agentic AI can move beyond question-and-answer tools to support reasoning and action while remaining aligned with governance, risk, and compliance frameworks. Hatem Dowidar, Group Chief Executive Officer of e&, said the organization’s ambition is to embed trusted, governed AI directly into operational processes, enabling faster decisions, consistent policy interpretation, and a foundation for broader agentic AI adoption across the enterprise.
IBM watsonx Orchestrate, as described in the report, enables AI agents to reason, orchestrate tasks, and integrate with enterprise systems under governance controls. For e&, this provides a basis for explainable, scalable AI across compliance and other enterprise domains, with the goal of streamlining compliance tasks, reducing response times, and enabling continuous self-service access across the organization.
