Quantum Machines and Arque Systems partner with Jülich Supercomputing Centre on Nvidia-powered quantum computer
Quantum Machines and Arque Systems have deployed an Nvidia DGX Quantum system at the Jülich Supercomputing Centre (JSC) in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany.
The DGX Quantum integrates Nvidia’s GH200 Grace Hopper Superchip with Quantum Machines’ OPX1000 hybrid quantum-classical controller, alongside Arque Systems’ 5-qubit processor that leverages electron shuttling for qubit coupling.
The partners highlighted that the setup delivers “seamless interaction” between classical and quantum compute resources with round-trip data transfer under four microseconds — a 1,000-fold performance improvement over earlier implementations.
This collaboration is designed to accelerate qubit calibration, enhance quantum error correction benchmarking, and enable hybrid algorithm development in a supercomputing environment.
Quantum Machines, founded in 2018 in Israel by Dr. Itamar Sivan, Dr. Yonatan Cohen, and Dr. Nissim Ofek, specializes in hybrid control and operation systems for all types of quantum computers. Arque Systems, spun out of JSC in 2022, focuses on semiconductor-based quantum computing using electron spins in silicon.
Arque Systems CEO Dr. Markus Beckers said the deployment represents a major milestone for integrating quantum systems into existing HPC infrastructure. Quantum Machines CEO Sivan emphasized the convergence of AI and quantum computing, positioning quantum acceleration to become as accessible as GPU acceleration.
Although Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang told CES attendees earlier this year that useful quantum computers may be 15–30 years away, Nvidia has been actively investing in the sector through its NVentures arm, backing Quantinuum, QuEra, and PsiQuantum. The company also announced work with Oxford Quantum Circuits and Digital Realty on a quantum-AI data center in New York City, while Orca integrated two PT-1 photonic processors with Nvidia Hopper GPUs at the Poznań Supercomputing and Networking Center in Poland.

About Quantum Machines and Arque Systems
Quantum Machines, founded in Israel in 2018 by Dr. Itamar Sivan, Dr. Yonatan Cohen, and Dr. Nissim Ofek, develops hybrid control and operation systems designed for all types of quantum computers. Its flagship OPX1000 controller provides the interface that allows seamless integration between classical high-performance computing resources and quantum processors, supporting faster calibration routines and the development of hybrid algorithms. The company plays a central role in bridging the gap between quantum research and practical deployment in supercomputing environments.
Arque Systems, meanwhile, was spun out of the Jülich Supercomputing Centre in 2022. The company is advancing semiconductor-based quantum processors built on electron spins in silicon, aiming to create scalable and reliable architectures. Under the leadership of CEO Dr. Markus Beckers, Arque collaborates with global partners to integrate its technology into HPC infrastructure, highlighting its role in Europe’s growing quantum ecosystem.
