Samsung Electronics Achieves TÜV Nord IoT Security Certification
Samsung Electronics announced that its Bespoke AI Jet Bot Steam1, Bespoke Jet Bot Combo2, and Bespoke AI Refrigerators3 have been awarded IoT security certification from TÜV Nord, a leading German certification body.
This recognition marks the first TÜV Nord security certification for Samsung digital appliances, highlighting its strong position in both advanced home appliance technology and robust data protection.
Jeong Seung Moon, Executive Vice President and Head of the R&D Team for Digital Appliances Business at Samsung Electronics, stated, “As global attention on smart home security increases, Samsung ensures solid protection through our Knox platform. This certification demonstrates the reliability of our security technologies, and we will continue to deliver advanced safeguards for customer data.”
TÜV Nord is globally recognized as an IECEE-accredited National Certification Body. The certification is based on the ETSI EN 303 645 standard from the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI), which defines IoT device security and privacy requirements across the entire lifecycle — from design and development to market operation. The framework emphasizes data encryption, access control, secure software updates, user data protection, and vulnerability management.
With the European market strengthening regulations through updates to the Radio Equipment Directive (RED) and the upcoming Cyber Resilience Act (CRA), TÜV Nord certification demonstrates Samsung’s ability to meet evolving standards while protecting users in connected environments.
Samsung integrates a wide range of Knox security features into its appliances, providing layered protection for user data. These include verifying unauthorized firmware modifications when devices power on. In addition, all monitoring footage and user commands from robot cleaners are encrypted and only decrypted at their intended endpoint.4
The 2025 Bespoke AI Refrigerators and Bespoke AI Jet Bot Steam enhance security with Knox Matrix and Knox Vault. Knox Matrix performs cross-device security checks, alerting users of potential threats, while Knox Vault protects sensitive information, including passwords, within a secure hardware subsystem.
The Bespoke AI Jet Bot Steam will debut at IFA 2025, while the Bespoke Jet Bot Combo and Bespoke AI Refrigerators are already launching in select markets worldwide.
