Schneider Electric and SGBC: Firms in Singapore Cut Costs up to 49% with AI and Digital Twins
More than one in five businesses in Singapore reported cost savings of between 30% and 49% after adopting digital twin and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies, according to a survey by Schneider Electric and the Singapore Green Building Council (SGBC), as cited by Singapore Business Review.
The study also highlighted that respondents achieved energy savings of up to 20% over the past year, with expectations of further reductions as adoption grows. Cost is becoming less of a barrier for green building projects: only 36% of firms listed it as a top concern in 2025, down from 61% in 2023.
Nearly 80% of surveyed organisations said they reduced emissions by over 10% through the use of renewable energy, efficient systems, sustainable materials, and transport infrastructure. Projections indicate businesses expect savings of up to 20% in the next year, 21–29% over two years, and as much as 49% within five years.
Beyond financial and environmental outcomes, the survey noted changing motivators for sustainability. Employee-driven initiatives rose from 3% in 2023 to 8%, while regulatory requirements grew from 2% to 10%, ahead of Singapore’s new Mandatory Energy Improvement scheme for energy-intensive buildings.
