Singapore Firms Cut Costs up to 49% Using AI and Digital Twins
A recent joint survey by Schneider Electric and the Singapore Green Building Council (SGBC), reported in Singapore Business Review, reveals that over one in five businesses in Singapore have achieved cost reductions between 30% and 49% by adopting digital twin and artificial intelligence (AI) solutions. Respondents also reported energy savings of up to 20% over the past year, with expectations of continued cost and energy reductions as technology adoption increases.
Cost is now less of an obstacle for green building projects. In 2025, only 36% of survey participants identified cost as a primary concern, down significantly from 61% in 2023. Nearly 80% of organizations surveyed reported achieving emissions reductions greater than 10% by integrating energy-efficient systems, renewable energy, sustainable building materials, and enhanced transportation infrastructure.
The survey projects growing optimism: most businesses expect up to 20% cost savings over the coming year, 21–29% within two years, and as much as 49% over five years. Beyond financial and environmental gains, sustainability motivations are shifting. The share of companies citing employee-driven sustainability jumped from 3% in 2023 to 8% in 2025, while those pointing to regulatory requirements increased from 2% to 10%, reflecting new Mandatory Energy Improvement regulations for energy-intensive buildings.
