Tech Soft 3D and NVIDIA Collaborate on OpenUSD and Omniverse Integration
Tech Soft 3D has announced a strategic partnership with NVIDIA to advance interoperability across 3D CAD environments using Universal Scene Description (OpenUSD) and the NVIDIA Omniverse platform.
As part of the collaboration, Tech Soft 3D has officially joined the Alliance for OpenUSD (AOUSD), working alongside NVIDIA and other contributors to define and develop the OpenUSD standard. Since 2022, NVIDIA has utilized HOOPS Exchange, Tech Soft 3D’s CAD data toolkit, to convert native CAD files into the OpenUSD format—essential for building scalable 3D digital twin solutions across industries.
The latest HOOPS Exchange release enables developers to export engineering data directly from leading CAD software into USD, the foundational format for Omniverse. This new functionality ensures high-fidelity data translation for simulation, visualization, and industrial-scale digital twin applications developed on Omniverse libraries.
By supporting over 30 CAD file formats—such as CATIA, STEP, and SOLIDWORKS—HOOPS Exchange allows seamless integration of rich engineering content into any USD-compatible 3D application. This upgrade enables robust workflows across an expanding USD ecosystem, positioning USD as a key standard for 3D data aggregation at scale.
Engineering software developers can now deliver smoother, more accurate experiences across the entire product lifecycle—from initial design to simulation and operational digital twin deployments—thanks to this enhanced interoperability.
Tech Soft 3D’s developer network now has deeper integration with the OpenUSD ecosystem, empowering thousands of engineers and developers to innovate and collaborate freely within this growing standard.
