UDEXREAL Unveils UDCAP Data Glove for XR, Robotics, and Simulation at AWE 2025
June 13, 2025 – UDEXREAL, a leader in hand tracking and motion capture solutions, has launched its latest wearable device—the UDCAP Data Glove—at AWE USA 2025, targeting the fields of robotics, simulation, and extended reality (XR).
Built with the company’s proprietary 0.1mm elastic sensor, the UDCAP glove delivers high-precision hand tracking while maintaining a lightweight, flexible form factor. UDEXREAL says the glove offers plug-and-play setup without relying on external cameras or lighting. It supports both physical and virtual workflows, capable of detecting subtle finger gestures in real time when connected to either a PC or VR headset.
The glove, Designed with cross-platform integration in mind, works seamlessly with Unity, Unreal Engine, and is compatible with major head-mounted displays, integrated tracking systems, and spatial positioning technologies. An SDK tailored for industrial use is also available.
Rather than limiting the glove to one use case, UDEXREAL has developed the UDCAP Data Glove for a wide spectrum of applications. For example, in robotic teleoperation, it can enables natural gesture control of robotic hands for both real-world and virtual training. Users can capture detailed motion data to improve humanoid robot gesture recognition and response fidelity.
In more complex simulation environments, the glove provides real-time tracking for tasks such as industrial equipment training or medical procedure rehearsals. With haptic feedback and an interactive SDK, users can fine-tune gesture recognition based on highly specific scenarios. The built-in UDCon controller enhances this experience, making simulations more immersive and responsive.
Content creators and virtual performers such as VTubers can also benefit from the glove’s light 45g weight and its ability to operate without cameras or markers, making it ideal for dynamic scenarios like dancing or concerts. Impressively, up to eight gloves can be used simultaneously, enabling multi-user choreography or group performances in virtual settings.
A beta version of the enterprise-grade Data Glove is now rolling out, with early trial registration open. The standard unit is priced at USD $1,799.
UDEXREAL Also Launches UDCAP VR Glove for Gaming and Social XR
In addition to the Data Glove, UDEXREAL also showcased the UDCAP VR Glove at AWE USA 2025. Targeted at the gaming and social XR market, it’s promoted as the “world’s lightest VR glove”, using 12 sensors to track 21 joint angles for lifelike hand presence.
The glove supports SteamVR titles and leading VR headsets, and when used with the UDCon controller, enables users to combine joystick inputs with hand gestures—expanding gameplay and interactivity.
According to UDEXREAL, the glove raised $600,000 in two months through Kickstarter. It retails at $699, but is available at a promotional price of $539–$599 through July 31 on UDEXREAL’s official website.
