Xiaomi IoT Expands Smart Appliance Lineup with AI-Powered Launch in Southeast Asia
Abs CBN reported that Xiaomi has officially unveiled its latest lineup of AI-powered smart appliances, signaling a deeper expansion into the Internet of Things (IoT) market across Southeast Asia.
During an event held at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, the company launched three new appliances: the Mijia Air Conditioner Pro Eco Inverter, a smart refrigerator with “fresh convertible zones,” and a front-load washer-dryer with intelligent drying detection.
The air conditioner incorporates Xiaomi’s proprietary AI algorithm, delivering more adaptive cooling than conventional systems. The refrigerator features compartments with independently controlled temperatures to help preserve items like fruits, meats, and beverages more effectively. The washer-dryer uses smart sensors to detect when clothes are dry and halts operation automatically, conserving energy and protecting fabric quality.
“This protects your fabrics, saves energy, and gives you one less thing to worry about,” said Jennifer Zheng, Product Marketing Manager at Xiaomi International.
The Mijia Refrigerator Cross Door also includes a touchscreen control panel for real-time temperature adjustments, while the Mijia Front Load Washer Dryer further emphasizes Xiaomi’s commitment to user-friendly, energy-efficient design.
TJ Walton, Senior Product Marketing Manager at Xiaomi International, emphasized that the company’s growing smart appliance portfolio reflects its ambition to offer seamless, AI-integrated living experiences. “We want to provide a seamless, connected, smart experience that we know our users will love,” Walton said.
Alex Tang, General Manager for Xiaomi Southeast Asia, noted that the brand shipped over 11 million appliance units last year and currently ranks as China’s fourth-largest home appliance brand. “Now, we are bringing that success to the global markets with the smart tech, the beautiful design to upgrade your home,” he said.
Walton also addressed Xiaomi’s pricing strategy, noting that affordability does not come at the expense of quality. “We don’t think about what to cut out. We think about what amazing features we can consider putting into these devices,” he explained. “Our goal is leading tech with amazing design, something that fits seamlessly into home life.”
The new large appliances are expected to launch in the Philippine market soon, aligning with Xiaomi’s broader push in Southeast Asia’s rapidly growing smart home segment.
In the first quarter of 2025, Xiaomi Corporation reported total revenue of 111.3 billion yuan, with revenue from IoT and lifestyle products hitting 32.3 billion yuan, reflecting a 58.7% increase year-over-year.
